Dr. Nettem V Choudary working as a Distinguished Scientist at CSIR – Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, India since 2022 is a scientist and technocrat with about 40 years of research experience at IIT Bombay (1984-87) and Research Centres of IPCL, Baroda (1987-2001), BPCL, Greater Noida (2001-2011), HPCL, Bangalore (2011-2021). He has interest in petroleum refining, petrochemicals, catalysis, adsorptive separations, green hydrogen, biofuels and carbon capture and conversions. He along with his team developed over 40 patented technologies / products and commercialised most of them. He was involved in setting up of Corporate R&D Centre of BPCL in Greater Noida and HPCL’s Green R&D Centre in Bangalore from the inception. Dr. Choudary filed over 100 unique patents in India, USA, Europe, etc., and published over 100 research papers.

Dr. Choudary is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineers (FNAE), and member of a number of other professional bodies. He received several prestigious awards such as VASVIK Industrial Research Award for Chemical Science & Technology for the year 2019, Life time achievement award by Catalysis Society of India, Bangalore Chapter in 2020, PetroFed Innovator of the Year –Team Award for the year 2015, etc. He was a Brain Pool Visiting Scientist at Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), South Korea during 1996. He has been a member of several expert committees such as PAC, Chemical and Environmental Engineering, SERB from 2016 to 2024.
